Klein River Cheese

Stanford has a cheese named after it! Inspired during a study tour in France a cheese-maker developed this magnificent hard cheese and named if after our village. Visit Klein River Cheese Farm and deli to sample their award-winning cheeses. Visitors can also enjoy a delicious picnic lunch (closed during winter) on the banks of the tranquil Klein River or in the garden. For children, there is an extensive playground to enjoy and many farm animals to see. Picnic baskets are filled with homemade breads, crackers, pates, pickles, cold meats, salads and a selection of Klein River Cheese – twelve exceptional South African cheeses. Klein River Cheese are committed to producing a healthy, and as far as possible, natural product free from hormones, antibiotics, colourants and artificial preservatives and using non-animal microbial rennet.
