Getting here, Cape Whale Coast

The main method of getting to The Cape Whale Coast is by car. Legendary resident of Hermanus, Sir William Hoy, prevented the building of a railway line to Hermanus in an effort to maintain the 'secrecy' of his favourite holiday destination and preserve the pristine environment.

There are many shuttle services and the option of flying in via helicopter. There is talk of an "official" airstrip being developed in the not too distant future. In the interim you'll have to hire a car or a shuttle service to get here - but this isn't too bad considering Cape Town International airport is only 90 minutes away and the drive is Spectacular!
